27th May 2010
The dataplex team were on hand at The Chief Fire Officers Association ICT Managers Conference in Reading this week where the theme of the two-day event was: “ICT Strategies To Deliver More For Less”.
Charles Barratt, dataplex marketing director, said:
“The UK's fire services face a big challenge in managing their IT budgets, especially in the face of the new public spending cuts. We were able to advise delegates on savings through technology like virtualisation, cloud computing and collaboration between separate FRS . We also talked about how to cut energy and power costs which also contribute to greener ways of working.
"We enjoyed the conference and had some fun with delegates with our end of conference competition and golden ticket winners.”
The winners of the bottles of Champagne are:
Johan Kritzinger of Scotland Fire & Rescue Service
Dr. Josef Kasebeh of Hants Fire & Rescue Service
Alan Reilly of Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service
