DANCING WITH dataplex

dataplex marketing executive, Sarah Morris, has revealed her secret passion for dancing.

Sarah, who’s based at the dataplex headquarters in Witney, Oxfordshire, has been dancing hip-hop, street, jazz, tap, ballet and contemporary for 11 years and recently performed at the Dancemania show at Carterton Community Centre.

Sarah co-ordinates marketing activity and events for dataplex, the UK’s leading independent ICT company working in business, industry and the public sector.

She said: “We are a young and creative bunch of people at dataplex and dancing is a great channel for my energy.

“I’ve got all sorts of costumes, from feathered head-dresses to top hat and tails and this year we were zombies dancing to “Thriller”.  I also came up with the idea for us all to wear one white glove as a tribute to Michael Jackson.”

Sarah’s talent doesn’t stop at dancing – she also sings.   “Last year I had my singing debut singing “Ironic” by Alanis Morrissette.  It was really nerve-wracking but I enjoyed every minute of it.  

“This year I’m singing “Don’t Stop Believing” from the American TV show “Glee” with my dance colleague, Laura.  Like the cast of “Glee”, we’re people of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities but we all come together to enjoy our passion for dance,” said Sarah.

“Our teacher, Amanda Paton created a really exciting show this year with some amazing dance routines and brilliant choreography.   She worked so hard and we were all determined to do our best,” she added.

Sarah’s now organising her own show for dataplex.    The company has a series of events and exhibitions throughout the summer which highlight current IT issues and dataplex solutions. 

Sarah said: “I love choreographing our dataplex events and meeting our clients. Things move rapidly in our industry and the dataplex team are always working to be one step ahead.”
